Co-Founders

Avi Abrol & Dillon Lind

Avi Abrol and Dillon Lind are both honors students at Council Rock North High School in Newtown, PA. Their love for STEM started back in elementary school when they competed in school science fairs and other fun STEM events. They were lucky to have access to great school resources, and over the years they were fortunate to win several awards and accolades for their research.

In middle school, they realized how important it was to share that passion with younger students, especially those who might not have the same opportunities. They started volunteering at the Fab Lab in Warminster, PA, working with elementary school kids on hands-on STEM activities. Seeing how excited the kids were inspired Avi and Dillon; they wanted to start something of their own and bring STEM to even more students, especially those in underserved communities.

That’s how StemStrong began. Avi and Dillon reached out to places like Christ’s Home in Warminster, PA the Wrightstown Library in Wrightstown PA, and the Trenton Public Library in Trenton, NJ to set up STEM sessions. They provide a short presentation followed by a fun and engaging hands-on project to get the kids thinking, planning and building. Their goal is to help kids feel as confident and excited about STEM as they are and be “StemStrong.”

Outside of STEM, Avi and Dillon both stay busy with other interests. They are both avid athletes as Avi plays soccer and tennis for Council Rock North, and Dillon plays baseball for Council Rock North. In their spare time they enjoy skiing, watching movies, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family.

Ambassadors

Aravind Chandrashekar

Aravind Chandrashekar is a student at Council Rock High School North in Newtown. His interest in math and science started very early, in elementary school, and he has been very successful at local and regional science fairs over the years. Community service, particularly STEM education, is also a keen interest. In his spare time, he enjoys racket sports, keeping up with current events and Indian culture.

Akash Sitapara

Akash Sitapara is an honors student at Council Rock North High School with a strong interest in STEM, inspired by his love of cars. He also plays varsity tennis and enjoys staying active, while being motivated to help others learn and succeed.

Vincenzo Stignone

Vicenzo (“Enzo”) is an Honors student at Council Rock HS. His passion for science, engineering and architecture began in elementary school when he spent hours building various sets. He is also pasionate about music and is an accomplished trumpet player. He has been chosen for all county band every year every since 8th grade.
